Don't bother with the Wilkesboro office. Go somewhere else. This place is an absolute disgrace. These government employees have serious attitudes and terrible standards. They let you know they don't care and think you are dirt. Unbelievable! One star was the lowest score allowed. They don't deserve it.

If you will be collecting off of your husband's social security, than YES you have to wait. You both can start receiving same time, but he must file first.

Yeah. Do research into the Ticket to Work program through Social Security. My husband is disabled due to a rare disease, and they paid for him to go to school to get a degree! Maybe they could for you too.
