Our family was looking for a new kitten, and called this shelter. The person over the phone did a pre-screening with me and informed me that our dogs would need a NC Rabies vaccine as they do not recognize ones administered elsewhere. I was able to schedule the appointment for the same time as I we were able to come view kittens. The staff at the desk were prepared for our visit, and super friendly. The vaccines were quick and easy. We then picked out our new kitten, who we just adore! The adoption staff member was very sweet and the process was smooth. They even scheduled appointments at the Vet for us. His wellness check went really well and we can’t wait for many years of love from this little man! Thank you all so much for bringing joy into our home!

LAZY. LAZY. I've called about numerous things where some rude woman always ended up telling me to do her job. Or they couldn't remove the animal because "it could be someone else's property" 😑 Sad excuse of a shelter with no intent of helping animals. I just moved to this county and will be sure to report this horrid excuse of a shelter.

I would call. That's a lot of animals for one house. Also cats can really mess with the bird population.
I have 4 girl pit mix puppies they r six months old at most. They are beautiful almost caramel color that’s actually what there mamas name is caramel if still interested lmk because I can’t keep feeding them all and they r such good dogs we all learned to sit last night after bath time they r really smart all you need is some plain cheerios and they will listen

Only the city limits has a leash law. Out in rural communities it's not illegal for dogs to roam. In my opinion safety issues for animals and human encounters should be a concern and law needs changed

Call the Sheriff's Office, they dispatch the on call animal control. Either they'll be able to tell you, or they'll have an Animal control officer call you back.
If you live in Lenoir city limits there is a leash law. Should contact Lenoir PD.
I asked the same question and they told me that they would be put down.

Unfortunately majority of the dogs and cats that go to Caldwell County A.C. have little chance of getting adopted or rescued. As space runs short unadopted dogs and cats get euth'd. Best thing is try to locate owners. Ask neighbors. Rescue the strays. NEED no kill shelter in Caldwell. New shelter is in the works but still a couple years away. It will be much more inviting and attract more volunteers. They need more volunteers now. Need spay/neuter laws!! Educate your family n friends how important it is to spay and neuter to prevent unwanted pregnancies and homeless pets. Thank you

Shoot em. You have the right to protect yourself and your property. And it states under property as livestock, threatening of real or life property. I've had to do this over cattle begin chased and harassed by dogs.
