5 stars because it's FREE! Sure, it would be great if it was more climate controlled and the targets were automated, but it's FREE! Staff is professional and nice. Never had any issues there. The hours are weird because I think it's used for law enforcement training stuff during the week. On weekdays, it's only open to the public in the evening, so I usually go on the weekends because you can shoot in the morning or afternoon. Make sure you make a reservation ahead of time online and read all the rules before you get there. Make sure all your firearms are unloaded and leave them in the car before going inside to check-in. After you check-in, you go back to your car, retrieve your stuff, and wait by the door until they tell you to enter. If it's your first time, you have to sit through a VERY brief (like surprisingly brief) safety presentation/video and fill out some information about yourself. Make sure to get there an hour before your lane time (I think) for this. Once you do that, your range card is good for a year and you can skip the safety briefing. Oh, also make sure to bring all your own guns, targets, safety equipment, and ammo. There is no store there. I like to print my own targets at home from templates I find on the internet. Enjoy!

Free. Professional staff, strict rules (good!), Never crowded- great for the new shooters, not intimidating. 10/10

Yes, Personal Defense & Handgun Safety Center Inc., no membership needed $20 per range visit not by the hour.
This facility reopened Oct 2020. It is currently (3/30/21) open at 50% capacity due to covid restrictions. It's open to the public Friday-Monday by reservation only. Visit our website see our hours of operation and reserve your next shooting session.
This is a public shooting range run by NC Wildlife Fri-Mon. For more questions about this range go to www.wakerange.com.
You cannot rent firearms at this facility. However, they do have targets, ammo, and equipment for sale or rent. If you are looking for a facility to rent firearms I would recommend PSR 37 in bunnlevel or Triangle Shooting academy. But warning, the price of shooting at these two facilities is 3-5x more then it is to shoot at the Wake county range.
Yes
We opened Oct 2020 by reservation only. Visit www.wakerange.com to make your reservation for your next visit.
Yes. They want to make sure you're safe and get everyone on the same page. I think it's a good idea.
If you didn't already redeem your groupon its probably worthless. The previous group who ran the range are no longer here and concealed carry classes are not offered here currently. Let me know if you need suggestions for getting your concealed carry permit. www.RaleighGunCoach.com
Cuz the sherif is a looser
Shooters must be 12 or older. Minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian and within arms reach at all times.
The range is now eun by NC wildlife. Visit www.wakerange.com see what classes are available when. They are not currently offering concealed carry classes.
Visitors are allowed for sure. I have never seen a visitor for training class. Visitors can not shoot. If you mean guest then so far as I remember members can bring guests that don't reside in wake.
