Been shopping at blue velvet for years now, I can comfortably say this is the best vintage store in austin in terms of stock. What they curate is the perfect ratio of vintage to affordable - a lot of places these days make you pay $50 for a ~vintage~ tee that’s likely to fall apart if you wash it too many times. Blue velvet still has sick stuff that you could find for $50, but it’s not inflated (too much). Writing this review as I wear a pair of old Ralph Lauren khakis I got from blue velvet yesterday for $35 that I could’ve gotten off grailed for like $80.

This place is such a rip off - $35 for a 30 year old stained and faded T-shirt. The woman at the counter told me they dont negotiate pricing and could only give a courtesy 10% off as the shirt was stained. Thats $32 dollars for a old tshirt!! This place has a couple nice pieces but clearly this is a hipster trap - cant believe they are charging these prices for vintage clothes! There are a bunch of other stores close by that arent price gouging… I would head there

Fun shopping experience!

They have many unique pieces in here but really it's more of an overpriced Goodwill.

As of March 10, 2021, properly worn (over-the-nose) masks are required at all times. We are mostly selling items outdoors (weather permitting) and allowing 1-2 customers at a time for 15 minutes of indoor shopping. Checkout is outside. For further details please call the shop and we can go over our procedures.
There's a bunch of men's stuff too! It's probably 1/3 men's.
Hi sorry Blue Velvet does not buy/consign clothing from the public.
