So as I sit here searching for an eye doctor I feel compelled to write this review. It's actually been several years since I was at this practice so perhaps the doctors attitude has changed, I don't know. What I do know is that I was so upset by the doctor I saw that I haven't been to an eye doctor since. I'm supposed to go yearly. The doctor basically told me I was lying when I said I had sjogrens and that i had dry eye. After telling me I didn't have sjogrens, he put some dye in my eyes that clearly showed the damage done by my dry eye. Yes, I have dry eye but yes I sometimes have excessive tears also, especially when you are shinning a giant light in my face. My tears don't at all moisturize my eyes, they feel like acid sometimes. My rheumatologist was not happy and told me to find another eye doctor. An ophthalmologist should know how sjogrens works. No doctor should treat a patient the way I was treated. He was dismissive, rude, and made me cry, and I'm not a sensitive person. Seriously disappointed and angry. After probably about 4 years I'm finally ready to try again, hopefully I'll choose better this time.

After reading reviews about how wonderful Dr. Hageman is, I hate to be a Debbie downer but I disagree and find him to be very belittling and uncaring to say to least! I’ve been telling him about a vision problem that’s been gradually getting worse over time and because he can’t find an obvious problem, there is no problem! I was so frustrating and felt completely defeated today and couldn’t hold back my tears! He handed me a tissue and said, “I’ll see you in a year”! I can promise he won’t be seeing me in 1 year or 2 or 3 years! I’ve lost my patience and a little bit of trust in our providers today and he has lost a patient but I am hopeful and prayerful I will find a caring Opthamologist who will help me! Just an FYI, the 2 stars are for his great staff!

Whenever I have had eye pain, visiting the Kernersville Eye Surgeons Office and seeing Dr. Hageman and his staff has been such a relief. Not only for the relieving of physical ailments, but also because the care his office provides. I have always been able to be seen promptly and leave with all my questions answered.
