Best cafeteria in the country for sure. Generous portions, freshest vegetables, desserts are to die for, home baked breads and rolls, and wonderfully attentive staff. Good old fashioned Southern hospitality. You definitely won’t leave hungry. Maybe a little bit pricier than your average cafeteria, but believe me the generous portions will more than make up for it!

We live in the area, so regularly order from here, especially since the pandemic began. We were previously very satisfied with the meals and value until they REFUSED to sell us food for our children. We chose a healthier dinner option and opted to pick up kids meals togo from Cleburnes for the children, something we do at least twice a week. After having done the same thing for months, the last time I called our order in to pick it up curbside, I was told that I couldn't call in any kids meals without purchasing an adult meal. This was totally new because we've done it countless times. This forced me to unpack my kids, including a toddler to go inside and order something that could have been done over the phone. After going inside and going to the togo counter, I recounted the experience with the togo server and the manager came over and DOUBLED DOWN. She said she couldn't sell me TWO kids meals at FULL PRICE for my TWO hungry children who were standing with me. This is absurd and I've never been refused service anywhere, especially not somewhere that I've repeatedly given my business. Since this ordeal had already wasted 20+ minutes on a school night, going anywhere else would have taken more time. I sadly had to struggle through the cafeteria line while trying to push a tray and hold a toddler, simply to get food for my children. All while the togo servers and manager watched, not flinching at the ridiculous situation. All of that to take the tray to a table and immediately pack it into a togo container myself. I'm embarrassed to have been treated so poorly after giving this establishment so much business. What kind of establishment would refuse children food?!?? If this is in fact the policy, any respectable manager and decent establishment would say, “I apologize for the confusion and lack of consistency with this policy in the past. I will be sure to RE-educate our staff to ensure that our customers get a consistent experience. I see your hands are full and I am so sorry for this inconvenience. Allow me to make an exception for you this evening [since we pulled this policy out of this air].”

The service was really good. Everything moved in a fast and efficient way. You do get a lot of food for what you’re paying, I just was not impressed. I thought I found a new cafeteria style place to eat at but sadly I was wrong. The food lacked seasoning and flavor. Likely won’t be back.

Really great place for lunch or dinner. You choose your food and pay for it. A lot of different types of salads, meats, desserts. First time here and liked that a waitress comes around you all the time if you need Togo boxes or refills, another one cleaning. Nice crew and clean place. Tables inside and outside. Very recommended

That is what we paid for my salmon, $15.95.
Food is really delicious, their servings are huge to where you might have to bring a doggie bag home.
Yes - It was very good and tasty I had the gravy to the side. The crust isn't too thick and the meat seemed to be a real piece of pounded meat not some frozen thing that you get at some places. 😉
No. They now take credit cards. Yeah! You can have wine with your dinner, order nice cuts of steak, salmon, other seafood. Very nice enhancements.
What an idiot! Another wanting something for nothing
No
No they do not make reservations for Thanksgiving day. The estimated wait on Thanksgiving day is 2 hours per the person that answered their phone.
Zucchini muffins are one of my personal favorites, unfortunately the rest of the world doesn’t see it as we do it’s one of the least popular muffins we offer and during Covid we cut back our selection hopefully you will see zucchini muffins sometime in the near future thank you for your comment.
We follow all city of Houston, Harris county and CDC guidelines.
I did see alot of seniors in there eating so they may have a senior discount. You can call and ask
We will hopefully resume crabcakes in the new year, seafood especially crab is extremely perishable because of COVID-19 and the decrease in business we don’t want to serve any product that is not served and requested on a regular basis. So sorry we should be getting crab again very soon. Thank you.
We are open for both dine-in and take out on Thanksgiving day. Thank you.
So very welcome! So happy you enjoyed your meal!
No brunch. Its very clean and the food and service are excellent.

They have them.
There is a small patio area, but you might want to: 1. Call & ask the management if it's okay; 2. Strongly the consider the wants/concerns that others around you may hold about eating with pets.
Yes, they do accept cards.
Why are you asking here instead of just calling the restaurant?
It is better. Way more enhancements that make for a truly wonderful dining experience.
Yes
You can get cash from their on-site, no-fee ATM. I did not the capability to acept Visa or debit cards at the checkout on Thanksgiving Day.
Not that I saw on Thanksgiving Day. They've been cash only as long as I can remember. There is an ATM (no fee) inside of the building, in the lobby area.
Let's see...you might have called or even returned to the restaurant the moment you discovered the problem, which I guarantee they would have made right to your satisfaction...or... Did you decide to eat it before not reporting (?) it and venting here? And unfortunately, mr. Woodard, I think that is a very creative spelling of meringue which doesn't have any and yes I do have meringue
April 2017
