Darnell was very professional and helpful. The staff stayed after five to make sure everyone was taken care of !!!

Do not try to call the Elgin post office via phone. It's all computerized and useless. I think they do not like to speak to humans. All I wanted to do was to ask a question. I wanted another human to answer my question. After several attempts I disconnected. This is another reason why we try not to use the post office.

Absolutely terrible costumer service. Was told if I didn’t get my mail, I didn’t get my mail.

It depends on where you moved to. Do you have a personal mailbox or is it a cluster box? If its your personal box, leave the mail in the box with the red flag up and leave a note that says "resident does not live here". It is the postal workers job to take that mail back to the office and figure out the address of the resident. If it is a cluster box, do the same thing with the note and leave it in the "Deliver or send" box. In both cases, its the postal workers job to retrieve that mail from you. Also if it is a cluster box, its possible that a mistake was made with the housing company. For instance the persons box number was originally 103 but was moved to 104 without notifying the Post Office. Its possible for that to happen with a personal box as well. Once in a blue, the addresses get switched like as mentioned before, that persons personal mailbox is actually 104 but someone wrote or misread the wrong number
Number is 438-3536.
I would go in person to the Elgin P.O. to talk with a clerk
