Another challenge to Greenville's neighborhoods stems from gentrification. To anyone who thinks otherwise, Black residents can testify that gentrification is alive and well in Greenville. One of them is City Council Mayor Pro Tem Lillian Brock Flemming, who this year marked 40 years on the council.
