It's a nice drive down a wooded road back to the parking area once you pass the office in the front. It would seem the state spent the majority of this parks funding on an office building. The rest of the park right down to the blacktop is in need of updating. I would advise against going with a small party of people as there are less than friendly neighborhoods on both sides of the park and from time to time you will see people cross through the park to get to the neighborhood on the other side. However due to the Dover police making rounds there often usually any issues are avoided and undesirable visitors quickly leave. Just to give you an idea, YRS AGO I sponsored a softball team. We had games in the parks ball field several times throughout the season. One particular evening late in the game the ump had to call a time out while 2 guys not in anyway associated with the softball league, walked around the fence by the bench and players then out across 3rd and second base, continued across center field as a few people started yelling at them and then turned around to yell a few threats and colorful names at everyone before disappearing into the woods. Less than 5 minutes later the Dover police department showed up and followed a trail into the woods but soon came back empty handed . What a game it was.
