I called their Blairsville office and got a quick response to my voicemail. They sent me a house plan book and some contact info within a few days.

My initial start with America’s Home Place Blairsville got off to what I may say was a bit rough. Saving grace was when Justin Ramey came on board as my project manager. I can not say enough kind words about Justin. He is polite, professional, very responsive to any questions I have had. I am in my new home and absolutely love it. Justin Ramey will be running that company one day or even better have his own company. He knows how to talk to people unlike Barry Conner, who I believe is the CEO. Justin certainly saved the day, I also admire the fact that he served in the military. That alone tells you about his character. Thank you Justin for all you have done to make this experience come to a pleasant ending. God Bless you always, for all you have done for me and my son. Sincerely Karen Luckie

First, we spoke to Clark Lovinggood back in November. He told my husband and I that he would send someone to our property to see if we could build with just a crawlspace versus a basement. This was going to happen in the first week of December. Well, December went by, no response from Clark, I emailed, still no response. January went by, I emailed, no response. I reached out to the corporate office and finally the manager went up there and gave me the information. Fast forward to April of this year. Met with Cathy George. Very nice person. However, things started going downhill. Again, Clark was supposed to do a site prep evaluation/estimation. He was supposed to go up the last week of April (they had our deposit and were supposed to start building this May). Well, that week went by and I emailed Cathy. The response I received sounded like they 'forgot'. Cathy said that Clark would go up on the 3rd of May. We talked to our mortgage lender and she informed us they were behind and that their build schedule was pushed out to July. We have an email saying that we were on the build schedule (tentative pending receiving our deposit, which they had) for May. By 7 May, we still had no site prep estimate, no construction schedule, nothing. We began to wonder if the whole build was going to be constantly having to call or drive to the site to ensure that things were getting done. We couldn't tell our mortgage lender how much the build was going to be because we couldn't get the site prep number nor were they communicating. We did have an estimate of the build but without the site prep number, we didn't know what the final was going to be. We had no idea if they had pushed our build to July, nothing. We cancelled and requested our deposit back. Being 'ghosted' basically twice was enough. They were aware that we live 3 1/2 hours away. They also had my husband's phone number and our email addresses. They may be good builders but we will never know because of how we were treated. One note of interest....both times we were in the office, my husband had on a shirt with a government agency name on it and a gun manufacturer hat on. Same shirt and same hat each time. Did this play into how we were treated? Not sure. It just seemed coincidental that each time, after having a pleasant conversation and being told that things were going to get done, we were left with very little or no communication and feeling like they didn't want to deal with us. Remember, perception is 100%....our perception, not theirs.
