We were looking to buy 2 oriental rugs for our new house in Charlotte. We went first to Charlotte Rug Gallery and were told we needed to look online. No rugs were available to actually see in the store. Also, implication was that we could not afford their rugs! We then went to Magic Rugs and had great service, spending about $7000 on two carpets. Bad job!

Was looking at a rug for a nursery, told Vahid I wanted to show my husband since it was incredibly expensive so I’d come back. He told me don’t worry about it, if it doesn’t work you can return it. He had me pay for it conditionally and had me sign a copy of the invoice on a clipboard that had a carbon copy. I returned it 3 business days later as it didn’t look good in the space. I also never picked up the rug pad. I searched for an alternative, but didn’t find one there. Ended up buying a rug else where and asking Vahid for a refund. Vahid told me that I couldn’t get a refund and it was exchange only. What???? He said the back of the receipt had their return policy and that I was told at the time of purchase that there are no returns. I was like I wouldn’t have bought the rug had I have known it was refund only I would've brought my husband in the store. He said, that’s store policy and I was told it numerous times. I've been disputing the charge with AMEX and am currently taking him to small claims court as the rug was over 6k. There are several women who have written me on facebook stating that they are always allowed to take rugs on a 10 day trial period, which is exactly what he told me at time of purchase. I have bought from several local stores, you'll have better luck with like Mrs. Howard, Diel Design, High Cotton, or SouthEnd Exchange. Steer clear!

Today was our first visit to this shop and we found a gem. We had no idea this place offered fine Persian/afghan/Anatolian/oriental rugs that are handmade and imported. They have a great mix of new and vintage. We purchased one We really like but don't know how well it'll fit in our space, so the nice part is that they offer exchanges too. We decided to go with a vintage Anatolia wool rug
