how can you make a patient feel so stupid & tell them the reason you came in for was not serious. the staff was rude and took me as a joke. if you want to get laughed at about the condition that you're in go here.

I came into the empty waiting room. I had blood pressure over 190/100. I was told emergency medical treatment can only be given if my blood pressure was over 210 or 220/120. I was given an ekg, chest xray, and blood work. I laid in bed for 30 minutes and my blood pressure was checked twice. When my blood pressure was last checked it was only down to 188/99 and I was dismissed with no treatment and told to schedule with my primary care. I could have stayed at home and checked my blood pressure twice in 30 minutes. I was handed a packet on high blood pressure that stated emergency medical treatment is needed if blood pressure is above 180 systolic or 110 diastolic. It felt like a ruse to charge up a large hospital bill with no treatment. My blood pressure was over 180 and I was experiencing hypertensive headaches and was given no treatment not even a recommendation to take another blood pressure pill. When I told my primary doctor about my experience, she pretty much told me it sounded like they scammed me for a high bill and treated me like I wasted their time. Also, she told me that she heard about this happening to several other high blood pressure patients. I am leaving this review about my experience so no one who is scared, confused, and in desperate need of help comes to a place that only wants to make sure you leave with a bill but no actual medical care.

I called to see if they would see my son for a bad cyst and the lady answered with "...We're an ER".... So I told her I know, I just wanted to know if they could see him to which she gave the same exact answer with more attitude than before and boy her attitude was HORRIBLE. She really talked to me as if I was dumb. When a mother calls about her childs health, that's not the time to be rude and condescending. Honestly sounded like she seriously hated her job. Hire better people, St. Vincent's. I been to you guys every time something goes wrong but I have never been treated that bad by any staff member. Much less a desk lady. I called back to speak to a supervisor and was told she is in a room with a patient and asked if I want to hold. I was so angry, I said yes I'll hold. About 2 minutes later the "Supervisor" gets on the phone and sounded like she was trying stifle a laugh about my frustration. I'm not entirely convinced I got a supervisor, I feel like she just pulled a coworker buddy to the side to talk to me. So I'm making this review in case that was not a supervisor. Don't go to this location until they learn to hire nice people who actually care about their job.

If you think your child has RSV or bronchiolitis, it is important to keep your child hydrated and monitor for fever or shortness of breath. Contact your child’s doctor, who can test for RSV and provide recommendations to keep your child safe at home. If your child’s health situation is serious or life-threatening, go to the nearest ER or call 911.

What are the symptoms of RSV?

Ascension | Oct 2, 2021
Ascension | Oct 2, 2021

Respiratory Syncytial Virus, or RSV, may appear like a bad cold to adults. For infants or young children, RSV can cause bronchiolitis -- a virus which causes swelling and an increase in mucus in the airway. This can cause difficulty breathing through their nose and eventually dehydration due to difficulty latching to the breast or bottle for infants. Other symptoms of RSV may include a fever or a very wet sounding cough, which can turn into coughing fits. Those coughing fits can cause a child to gag and potentially vomit.
