Loved this paved trail. Awesome with a stroller or a bike. We parked on the street. Some advise to park by memorial park. You do have to cross sunrise highway but there is traffic light. The road mostly shaded, though not the whole path. I went on a very hot, 85F day, and it wasn't bad . A lot of birds and geese on the way. Many views of the lake

Wonderful trail!!! Starts off a little rough on bikes, lots of roots busting up trail, but gets much better. Very busy

Fantastic, paved walking trail with plenty of wildlife! We saw coy fish, geese, various birds, and ducks.

Pleasant well tended trail for a walk along the water. Lots of water fowl. Nice walk with a dog on a leash.

The path between Merrick Rd and Sunrise Hwy is level and you can adjust how far you walk. You have views of the lake on the lower part. There is parking on the street at the trailhead. Or if you like the part just above Sunrise Hwy is by a playground with a bathroom It's level and you can adjust how far you walk as well.

Parking is available at Mansfield Memorial Park. There is an entrance to the Massapequa Preserve from that lot. Follow the white blazes on the trees. Enjoy!

Is there a fee to park
