The gatehouse at the entrance to the Mohonk Preserve, leading to the carriage trails to the foot of the Shawnagunk (sp?) Mountains. This is an easy walk through the northern version of Oak Alley, at the start, and then through fields before getting to the foothills. The trails are wide and well marked, and there are placard posts describing the area, scenic overlooks, or trail maps

There is a fee to park and hike. I believe I is $15 per adult. There are several long trails, most can be done with strollers. There are benches along the main trail and a gazebo as well.
The Lady at the gate wanted to charge $15.00 per person in the car to enter. Very strange since there were no signs visibly posted at the booth behind the gate indicating price per car or per person.
I think it was a private residence before the gas explosion. Not sure about the door, it certainly is a custom made product.
