I tried calling so many times. No one answers, and the automated greeting keeps announcing that the pool is closed due to COVID-19. But then I noticed there was flyer a few weeks back that said the pool was to be open for morning lap swim only, which is not fair to those who can only find time in the evening to swim. Now it seems that flyer is removed from their site.

Yo cannot BBQ at River Bank Park cleverly mounted on top pf a water treatment facility with stunning views of the Hudson Rivet and the GWB. Downstairs is the northern most part of Riverside Park heading towards the famed tiny lighthouse at the South eastern base of the GWB you can grill out near the softball fields.

The park opens at 9am to 9pm. The pool opens at 9am to 7pm. The place is the Bomb. You have to go there yourself and see. It's really nice and refreshing with so many things going on in each building they have. A skating rink, basketball everything, restaurants, and a carousel. When I was there last week the carousel was closed. Then there is an elevator that will take you downstairs and that is where they barbecue. It is really beautiful. They use to collect garbage years ago but they turned it into a state park. I watched them build this park back until 90's could you imagine a garbage dump.

The restaurant "Sofrito" is very high class and will not let you in unless dress appropriate.

Because it's a State Park,.they close the park exactly at tbe designated time. There are several nearby parking garages.

Any user want to shoot film in the state park need to submit proper application request permission to shoot film you will need to allow at least 5 working day to approve together with application , insurance certificate,fee, script,list of person involved,plan lay out..

Yes the large indoor pool is open. The outdoor one in beginning of july. 9 am to 3.30pm is adults. 3.30 to 5.30pm is kids and 5.30pm to 7.30 is adults again. That's the last 411 i got. You pay $2 at the main cashier place before getting to pool. So get ticket first in front before going to pool to save yourself walking back and forward :)

yes. take the 1 Train to 145th St. The park is two blocks over. transfer from the 2 to 1 at 96th st. Or take the 4 train to 149th in the Bronx and transfer to 19 bus towards Manhattan. The bus last stop is in the park. The one train will leave you two blocks from the park.

Riverbank is the fifth state park in New York City. The park is not that large or prominent enough historically or otherwise to be a national park, that's why it's a state park. There are more than ten thousand state parks in United States. These are maintained at the state level. The idea being more prominent a park, requires a larger pool of resources (state rather than a city or town) to preserve, run and maintain it. Now New York City and state distinction does bring an interesting dynamic, that people feel city is richer than the state, but then they forget that the state contains the city too!
