On the actual day she …I want to thank you Ms. Black for your review, and take this opportunity to reach out to any present, future and past customers and clear up any misconceptions. If your mother, Mrs. V.T. is having any issues with her clocks, they are most definitely under warranty and we encourage her to please call M-F during business hours to address her concerns. I want to apologize to your mother for any confusion or misunderstanding she may have had. We have been doing clock repair for nearly 30 years. We started out here in Springfield in a time when there were more than 8 other clock shops in the area. Because of my skills as a machinist, welder, and master certified clock repairman, I quickly fell in very high demand. Therefore, since our inception, we have had a very hard time keeping up with the workload. I’m currently training an apprentice of three years now. He is a topnotch repairman and will continue to serve the community long after I can no longer. Even with two of us, we are still significantly backlogged. I regret that we cannot answer every phone call that comes in. We receive nearly 30 calls per day of which absolutely every call is returned. We do service calls on grandfather clocks. Therefore, we are not always here to receive or hand out clocks. For that reason we are by appointment only, and ask that customers please call several days in advance M-F during business hours to schedule. Unfortunately your mom called over the weekend when we were not in. When her call was returned on Monday, she never communicated that she was in town, but wanted to schedule a time later in the week to pick her clock up, as well as drop off another. We take a lot of pride in our work, and give a one-year warranty on overhauls, movement replacements, and most other repairs. We will actually cover clocks beyond their warranty if an issue arises in most cases. Our in-shop warranty covers everything to include regulating, unless otherwise stated, in advance of course, before any work is done. Every customer receives a free in-shop estimate before repairs are performed. All repairs are approved in advance by the customer. Every new mechanical clock comes from the manufacturer with a statement that it will keep time within a minute a day, with instructions on how to regulate with a simple turn of the regulator nut on the bottom of the pendulum. Mechanical clocks will vary in timekeeping from one location to the next due to temperature, elevation, barometric pressure, humidity, and several other factors. For that reason, we understand it can be somewhat frustrating for some. When your mom scheduled to pick up the second clock she approved the work on, she mentioned that she was needing to regulate the first clock, and asked if we would give her a partial refund. At that time, she was encouraged to bring it back in when picking up her second clock, so we could check it and get the time keeping closer for her. She quickly declined and stated that she had already figured out how to regulate it. When V.T. picked up her second clock, there was no mention of any issues with her first clock despite the fact that we again emphasized the fact that all repairs come with a 1-yr warranty, and not to hesitate if she has any questions or problems whatsoever, as we do with every customer. Ms. Black, again please encourage your mother to reach out to us if she has any issues whatsoever with her clocks. I can understand the confusion between yourself and your mother as you are in Idaho and she is in Missouri, and she picked up the first clock over four months ago. We want to emphasize how important it is for your mother, and each and every customer to communicate with us, as we strive for 100% satisfaction with each and every customer! Thank you!

Joe, Unfortunately We are unable to get Seiko parts. Generally you have to send your clock back to the manufacturer. I would recommend contacting Seiko. I also would recommend that you clean all battery contacts with a pencil eraser, and install new batteries to ensure that it’s not a contact problem. Thanks for your inquiry.
