Visit the DMV website. Find Suffolk County and then find the Port Jefferson location and you will see a link that say Make A Reservation. This is best done on a desktop or laptop. If you do this on a phone you will pull your hair out in frustration.

Well... my best guess is, if you originally got your handicap display card from the DMV, then most likely yes... any DMV should be able to replace paperwork you're missing. You might need to make an appointment though... which is actually great compared to the old way waiting to be called by number...!! If you are the next of kin , you will need a notarized mv 349 form, a registration application, a dtf802 form, a copy of the death certificate and the title. If you also need plates, provide a copy of your insurance card. Submit all this paperwork with a copy of your license and a completed method of payment form to your local DMV. Or make an appointment to register a car and bring all the paperwork in then.

I’ve been trying to get a title transferred over and plates transferred over as well since I’m still paying for two cars and my insurance one of the cars is sold and the website brings me to an oops page is not found which is very annoying

Your best chance to be seen would be to arrive by 7-730am, before the office opens. There will most likely already be a waiting line when you arrive. When the office opens, you will receive a numbered ticket and you will wait to be called to the counter. The office will stay open until the last customer has been served so you will be seen as long as you receive a numbered ticket.
