Yes! Our physicians are state-licensed, board-certified MDs and DOs just like any other doctor you might visit. However, our physicians went through additional training in order to be able to legally recommend medical marijuana to patients, as mandated by Florida state law.

Florida law requires all recommending physicians to complete a state-mandated training program in order to qualify patients for medical marijuana use. All CannaMD physicians are state-licensed, board-certified physicians who have completed this additional training.

Medical marijuana certifications are valid for 210 days. Per Senate Bill 8A, patients must then visit a qualified medical marijuana physician (like CannaMD) to renew. Note: State law requires all renewal appointments to be in-person; this isn't a process you can complete online and/or over the phone. Yes! In accordance with state law, all CannaMD doctors hold an active, unrestricted license as either an allopathic physician or osteopathic physician and are in compliance with all state-mandated education requirements. (At this time, educational requirements include completing an annual course and exam administered by either the Florida Medical Association or Florida Osteopathic Medical Association.)
