The Serv Pro crew that removed the drywall and flooring stole tools and paint supplies from my property. The owner reimbursed me for part of the tools that got stolen. After the demo, which caused additional damage to the property, it took …Mr. Tom, I was under the impression that we reimbursed you fully for the tools at prices you submitted for like kind and quality. I would like to clarify as this was posted on a public forum; the crew did not "steal" the tools, these are common operating supplies we use on a daily basis. They mistakenly took them as the tools were in the work area and the crew believed they were ours. My team and I have made effort to communicate with you and your insurance carrier over this issue through the process. I issued a check next business day after we had your list with values for the screwdrivers, hammer, and paint brushes. With regards to the demo causing additional damage: The damage you are referring to is termite damage. The demo that was necessary did require some force and in turn vibration to the property. With the termite damage already weakening your framing some wood fragments did fall to the floor in the unit below, we cleaned these up as soon as we were aware. There was nothing we could have done to prevent this from happening to the framing and the demo was necessary to prevent further deterioration of materials. Lastly, with regard to the repairs, we made a decision not to take on the repair portion of the job due to the issues that had already occurred on the claim. Primary reason being the deterioration of certain materials that weren't covered as part of your claim. We would not have been able to provide a safe product or offer a warranty. We relayed this information to parties involved on the claim and apologize if you did not receive notice. Please call our office with any further questions or concerns.
