CrossFit 286 is a wonderful gym! The group workouts are led by experienced trainers, and the exercises are always challenging and varied. I particularly like that the trainers pay close attention to form & movement to ensure that there are no injuries. The gym also encourages everyone to feel like they are part of a community, and there’s such a fun and friendly feel to the place. So if you’re looking to get fit and to make some new friends, come in and try a class.

The gym has thoughtful programming for all levels of fitness and the coaches are very attentive to each member. I’ve been enjoying the regularly scheduled 1-on-1 check-ups with Al the owner where I get to take my body compositions and keep myself on track of my goals. Plus the 24/7 access to the gym has been very convenient for me to pursue an Olympic weightlifting programming on my own free time. I also appreciate the fun events the gym organizes like the holiday fitness bingo.

I've been to other boxes around the country, which frankly made me a little apprehensive about joining a box here close to home. Finally decided to give 286 a try about a month and a half ago and I'm glad I did! The team here really goes out of their way to make you feel welcome here regardless of ability, whether it's an email to see how you're doing, a check-in, or a simple icebreaker to get to know the other folks you'll be "suffering" with. Little things like that go a long way. All the coaches have been super encouraging and great to get along with. Definitely recommend!

Al and his team are passionate about helping people not only get in shape but also enjoy the journey. They are professional and understand that every person has their own limitations and expectations, and they make sure to work with each person individually to ensure that they not only reach their goals, but that they do it safely. Definitely they best trainers I have had the pleasure to work with.

Questions & Answers

I've been working out for many years and have very specific goals in mind. Is this the right gym for me? Will they provide assistance in transitioning from traditional lifting to CrossFit, or am i expected to know the moves already?

Hi Kevin! Thank you so much for your question! That's awesome that you have very specific goals in mind! While we do not expect you to know all the movements, we have found that the best way to transition from traditional lifting to Crossfit is through our Foundations Program. In this program, you will do an initial assessment, plus 4 personal training sessions with our coaches so they can properly prepare you for the regular group classes. After your 4 personal training sessions, you will be well prepared to take on regular Crossfit classes and reach those goals!

I'm not sure I can do all the advanced movements in CrossFit. Will the coaches be able to help me?

Hi Tom! Thank you so much for you question! yes! Our expert coaches will be able to help you! During all of our classes, the coaches take the time to teach every movement to ensure that your are doing them correctly and safely! If there is a movement you struggle with or don't quite have down, our coaches will modify your workout so you can work on a progression for the more advanced movement! Don't worry, there will be others in the class who will be doing progressions for the more advanced movement!

I am super interested in trying out CrossFit. But I haven’t ever taken a class or even really go to the gym consistently, would I be able to handle CrossFit?
