Concerns regarding hygiene: The service, ambience, and food are great; no concerns there. I went to the men’s restroom, and a staff member wearing a kitchen apron walked in and just raised his apron to use the urinal. Needless to say, there’s always a little “spray” of urine, especially with his stance being so “into” it. Now, I have to say I don’t know this man’s role; he could be a bus boy, in which it is less of a concern compared to say, a cook. But it is NOT a good look and leaves me with hygiene/health and safety concerns. On top of that, the men’s room was out of both soap and paper towels when we were both in there. I think TBP needs to create a policy where aprons are not allowed in the restrooms, full stop.

If you like an unpleasant and rude waiter and a weird kind of abusive bartender who stares you down while you're having dinner and is on his phone all night while you and your 7 friends have bread plates thrown on the table, have to beg for wine, drinks, full water glasses, silverware and sugar for your coffee ... then this is the place for you! While the manager did her best to help she is not responsible for the disgraceful behavior of her staff. And while we know it's been a rough few years for restaurants and staffing, it is not an excuse to treat diners with such disrespect. We've all been through alot and to treat other human beings in this manner is disgraceful. The behavior of the waiter and bartender was weird and bordered on abusive. It's sad to see such a storied restaurant decline the way it has. The worst part? I sent an email on Friday night after our horrendous experience and so far haven't heard from a soul. Not surprising given the attitudes of the staff as this kind of behavior starts at the top. It's too bad because the food is delicious and the server who brought our food to the table could not have been sweeter. I strongly suggest you spend your money elsewhere and find a place who knows how to treat their guests with care and respect, especially when their asking for things that are reasonable like silverware, water, wine and sugar. We were made to feel incredibly uncomfortable and in my 50+ years of dining out Ive never experienced such weird and awful behavior from staff. For the record we were polite and tried to be engaging but we were continually met with attitude, eye rolls and shrugs. It was 7:30pm on a Friday night during a car show weekend and we couldnt go anywhere else. If you must go, have dinner in the kitchen with the chef, my guess is that he or she will treat you much better than these two treated us!!!

We came here for lunch, as we had heard the clam chowder was exceptionally good. It really was good! The rest of our food was delicious, too! Our server was helpful and very pleasant, and she always had a smile.

Food good, service bad. Really disappointed with our experience at the outside dinning area tonight. Service was bad….meaning super slow and I did not feel like the server appreciated us being there. Asked for separate checks and she said they don’t do separate checks, but she was able to split the total three ways. I will let a manager confirm this. We had clam chowder (it was really good), but after we finished it, we were turned off enough by the service that we just left.

This question should be asked to the restaurant!
Not really close by. You have to park on the main street off the wharf or a parking lot across the street.
Try the bar.
As long as I can remember. Been going there since early 80s
Obvious?
