Another sloppy service experience in a premium New York restaurant. Training starts at the top, completely disorganized & unattentive staff bringing the wrong plates to tables, disappearing for 15 minutes, a 40 minute wait for a Sashimi platter - you are leaving $$$ on the table from diners who were locked up for 2 years and are ready to spend. Manhattan is back, wake up Zuma, you have a gorgeous restaurant but your servers are operating at a "C" standard.

Everything is carefully curated like an art piece. You’re looking at $250 per head for a good time but worthwhile for the full experience

If you are coming for the omakase I would recommend, good food and service, large portions. If you are planning private dining, I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. First of all, the event manager is not responsive at all. You will need to beg for email replies, you will never get a phone number that can call through. Secondly, the dantai menu(prefixed for private dining) they provided looks the same to the omakase but is totally different. We ordered dentai for every individual but the amount of food doesn’t fill you up. Majority of my guests still felt hungry after all the courses so we ended up ordering something extra. Be careful that the dentai is also shared plates, for the main courses you are looking at no more than half of the expected amount compared to what you would get for omakase. Thirdly one of my guests found some thin metal string which looks like part of the dish scrubber. Finally, the wine we ordered was from 2012 and they didn’t even decant to bring the flavor out. If you are interested in old wines, this is not the best place to get them because they don’t serve it properly.

I do not think it is a good place for children, however, you can call and ask if they accept. I hope it has been helpfull.
Yes
I don't work at Zuma! I just like the place!
No
Yes ok it worths a visit but nothing to do with Zuma Miami. The one in NYC is more an after hour restaurant than a meeting point of the NYC youth. Miami is much more fancy. The food quality is ok in both.
There is seating in front of the chef stations which can be reserved. There is also traditional bar seating I believe which is on a first come first served basis.
