Schumacher Homes of Charleston started building my daughters home they started out doing ok. But they haven't touched the house since March it's sitting there with her kitchen cabinets sitting in open garage for months. They started putting siding on the house and had to take it off because it wasn't put on right. The contractor putting siding on showed up with NO ladders or tools. Schumacher is charging them about 1/2 million dollars for this house. So you would think they would have professionals doing the work. Lots of people are watching the progress on this house. This was going to be my daughter's dream home and it's turned into a Nightmare! It's costing her every month! Please pray for them.

DO NOT BUILD WITH SCHUMACHER HOMES! I recommended Schumacher to my friends in the past, but never again. Although the local manager is a quality person and I truly believe that he would like to make good on his promises, the corporate structure seems to make that impossible. I have been honest with people in the past when asked about Schumacher and said not to believe time estimates. If they would be honest with folks and say, "we have no idea when we'll start your house or when it will be finished", they might do better. BUT THEY DON'T. The source of their problems probably has to do with a serious lack of quality workers who will work for what they pay, but that doesn't give them reason to openly lie to people about timelines. I believe they will do ANYTHING to get you to sign a contract and then it's all out the window as far as delivering. THEY ARE GOOD AT SELLING BUT HAVE NO REGARD FOR THE CUSTOMER WHEN IT COMES TO MAKING GOOD ON THEIR PROMISES. They are currently building a house next to me and if I was the customer I would be spitting nails. The house sits with no action while the owners sit and wonder when their house will be finished. The way they're going it may be another year and they started construction 9 months ago, after waiting months for it to start. I am told that they won't even return calls at this point. I believe they will have a good house if it's ever completed, but heir time promises are totally empty. IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR SANITY DON"T BUILD WITH SCHUMACHER.
