Spent 2 weeks here. The bathrooms are nasty and they don’t clean them properly, they run short on hygiene supplies. Some nurses are rude and careless. The food is okay. I feel like you need to speak up for yourself a lot, if not they will step all over you and keep you for as long as they can. There was a nurse that refused to give me meds that I was prescribed. Another time a nurse gave me the wrong meds and I was throwing up all night long. He didn’t care even after I brought it to his attention. It’s overwhelming enough being in there. Thankfully I had my brother on top of them and I was able to get better.

Was there for two reasons. I was working on audio for a game and my overbearing mother called the police due to a noise complaint, the irony being that I told her in advance that I'd be making a bit of noise and she was okay with this. An EMS arrived and admitted me simply for not knowing the date and nothing more. I was stuck for three weeks while Dr. Filmore flat out lied to a judge claiming I had physchosis and schizophrenia based on false claims by my mother and would constantly threaten to keep me against my will for simply asking for her so I could explain the situation properly. It was an awful experience and they never ever let me call my attourney before my case. I was compeltely innocent and the treatment was awful, they forced a cocktail of medications on me against my will on an empty stomach that made me vomit profusely and I was physically assaulted by a male nurse after politely refusing to speak to him. He screamed, cursed, stretched out my shirt and flat out punched me. I was completely passive and non-violent and nothing was done to him. This place was traumatic.

I was there in 2006 for 30 days . I thought they did a great job. I was taken care of immediately.groups were optional and I was medicated.maybe it's changed.but I would go if had to again

Scary place. No groups and it’s over run by a cult of women. People pay for there kids to stay here forever. Staff is worse than patients. Rather be in jail.

Bring her to an emergency room. admission is on a "emergency intervention" only and only done through the ER. She has to be willing. Bring her there and tell them shes a danger to herself (or others) and she needs to go to crisis intervention and needs INPATIENT stay. Good luck. being a family member of a mentally ill person is a tough and brave and endlessly compassionate thing. I wish you the best.
It is about 8 weeks. But as the other guys said above me, it really depends on the patient. Some patients don’t even have to go to outpatient
