What can I say? I am so grateful for the staff here. They may have likely saved my life

I'm at the Abercrombie & Fitch emergency room! Busy place, even at 12:41 a.m. The professional courteous helpful ladies and gentlemen nothing but good things to say about this hospital! I'm on the burn unit now and they take a very high level of care of you up here on the 9th floor however when you first come in if you have the backpack or a purse be prepared to have it gone through better than if you were at the courthouse I actually felt kind of violated by the security guard putting his hands in all my stuff even though I didn't have anything to hide he searched it thoroughly but I didn't really appreciate it. And it takes a long time to wait for everything here but the treatment is top-notch! π. Overall I do feel lucky to have OSU burn team taking care of me! Everyone seems compassionate professional and thorough!

Seriously the lack of attention by certain staff and departments in this medical center is deplorable.

New federal guidelines.
Through your main physician .Tell them you prefer the James
I mean, im not very smart, but I think you have to book your dates and times through your oncolgist. Usually you have a very specific dose, and region planed. This is then usually put into a treatment plan, and that will have your dates and times on it.
I have no idea sorry
The cannon parking garage is the closest to the james entrance. Follow the signs towards valet, and then go straight into the parking garage. $3 a day with a ticket validation.
Call the james line they can assist you.
My wife has been undergoing treatment at the James since Summer. I am not sure of skin cancer but they are the top notch for cancer treatment. They treat you more like family than just a patient. My wife has been there the past 15 days now and I am very pleased with her care. Good luck to you
Sorry just seen this, but family can come with you and 2 at a time in the room
If you are dealing with cancer I highly recommend The James Cancer Center, my husband was turned down for transplant, yet The Doctors at The James did the surgery, he's recovering and doing well. Go There!
It has a small one, mostly focuses on cancer related gifts. The main hospital has a nice one and it's just a short walk from The James.
If at all possible, you would have to ask the patient or get some type of medical records release form signed that will grant you the rights get their medical information. Check HIPPA for the guidelines
The gift shop might have some gum
Hello Steve, Yes, valet service is available Monday-Friday from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Hi Michelle, Our proton therapy center is currently scheduled to be opened in October 2023. We are not treating patients with proton therapy at this time.
Not sure what they accept but they will help you with whatever information needed but for cancer they are number one in Ohio the people are awesome if u need help they will help u fine the answer to your questions.
Are you now allowing spouses to attend the session with the oncologist and patients due to COVID-19 regarding there Ctscans
Inpatients are allowed 2 named visitors per day from 8am-7pm.
I can't answer that it's a Hippa Violation because I work there
You'll get a faster answer if you call them
Yes they do and they are an awesome Hospital
You're very welcome π good luck to your friend! Seems she has a great support in you!
I'm sorry I don't know. My fiance didn't have chemo. I wish I could help you.
No they don't. I'm on Medicare and they treated me with the utmost respect and listened to what I have to say. I feel like I'm family when I am there.
This has to with chemo treatment
Call their main line and ask to speak with someone. They do have assistance programs for those without insurance who have certain types of cancer.
I'm not certain about evening hours, but I do know that they do infusions over the weekend. I hope that helps. Be blessed.
No animals unless registered as service animal.
I believe records are required to be kept for 5-10 years, but I'm not 110% certain on that. I would advise you call the hospital administration or records department and find out what their policy is for sure.
I believe so. Contact the specialty (type of or location on the body that CA is suspected) the pt is concerned about for an appointment.
Everyone's cancer is different. Only your doctor can explain what's happening with you. All the doctors here are wonderful and all the staff takes really good care of you.
I actually heard OSU is diverting and is full in the ER and the entire hospital.
Yes, once they take you back to prep for surgery they will allow 1 person to stay with you until they wheel you back to the operating room.
They have a lot of assistance available for those who are uninsured/underinsured. I myself experienced it before my benefits kicked in through my spouse and they did a great job with everything.
Family can actually stay over night in most units. The building is locked to non employees from 10pm-6am but they will sometimes buzz you in.
Here is a link about donations to the James (https://cancer.osu.edu/giving-back). One of the options is to donate for a specific loved one. There is also a number at the bottom of the page if you have further questions.

Those are questions for your doctor's, not a site like this.
Please get help from specialists
Unfortunately, there are no laundry facilities for patients at The James. There is, however, a patient and family resource center that can assist with all sorts of needs and requests, as well as a wonderful patient experience department. Hope this helps.
No real flowers at The James. Must be fake due to cancer patients. I'm on 18th floor now. I ask them. They said No.
... I mean you can go to a web site and send an electronic greeting card. Thats not their business. You can have things delivered to a room. They have a gift shop in the hospital that you can have delivered to a room. But, no they are not an ecard business.
It is very scary but it does not mean cancer. You have to get it checked out and then go from there. God bless you.
They r very Polite if you Call they will tell you .
There is an emergency department. Im not really sure what you mean though. Its a hospital. Usually you make an appointment for services, but if you have an emergency you can walk in. Thats how all hospitals work though. So are you asking something else? @ Sarah Settle comment. Depending on how you are paying for services (insurance, self pay) you would need a referral. Than you would go through workups to see if you would even need a treatment. Get referred to an oncologist who would than review your case with you, discuss treatments if you needed any. Then than from there... it all depends. I dont know if anything would be quicker or not, but you can go to their website to find a doc if you feel your doc is not very good.
Im not really sure what your asking, or if your not sure what your asking. but lets give this a try. The second part I have no idea what your asking at all, did you read your question? For the first part. So, its complicated. Yes, the state funds the hospital, depending on how you want to define the type of, and amounts of funding, monies, and benifits the facility receives. In general that would be so for any hospital. If your asking if it is a 100% state funded facility, that answer would be no.
The university not a private institution...so I i would say probably yes..but not 100% positive
Phyllis G. Jones Legacy Park, and Gerbig, Snell/Weisheimer Childrenβs Park,
They currently have partners and programs they work with, I dont know how it works, but call and they can help
Highly recommend OSU dental faculty practice. They teach the dentist that graduate from OSU school of dentistry. They practice what they teach.
A lot the chemotherapy is. Tested trial drug's to fit your cancer needs my husband goes there
Definitely something to discuss with your doctor. They do great research here along with clinical trials, currently in one myself. They are making great strides in fighting various cancers. Will keep you in my prayers and hope everything works out.
They don't do artificial bladders but they do a neobladder procedure, creating a continent urinary bladder from intestines as well as other procedures.
The James .is ajoined with three other Great Hospitals to handel all stages of pulmonary. And all cancers dimply the BEST ive ever seen
You might want to check the gift shop in the adjacent Rhodes Hall lobby. If you're in the James lobby, go up the grand staircase, down the hall past the cafeteria, and make a left where the hallway dead-ends, and then a quick right down the two story glassy hallway until the end and make a left there. You should be in another lobby/waiting area, and the gift shop is on the left behind the information desk.
