The food was good and great for the price. We had to wait awhile before someone came to even bring us drinks, we don't think the girl that seated us even told our waitress we were there. Liked the fact the chef came to our table to make sure we were enjoying the food. I would go back.

We went to the Cake Cafe in Newington this morning arriving at 8:30 am to eat outside. There was only one other duo at a table near us. All the tables were dirty and we had to get a wipe and do it ourselves. 30 minutes later no one came out to give us menus and take our order so we went in to get them ourselves. Another couple toward the side of the building also went in and complained that they also were not getting any service. So my partner went in to inquire. Finally 45 minutes later a male server came out to take our order. We then waited another 15 minutes to get our drinks. He then stated he was just too busy inside. At the same time another couple sat down outside and they waited 45 minutes before he came out again to get their order. Then another group of five who ended up having another person take their order within 10 minutes but when we left at 10:45 they were still waiting for their food. Bottom line is we all waited a long time just to place our orders and then another 45 minutes to get the food. Refreshing coffee cups happened after an hour and a half. What's sad is the food was really good. Getting a check was impossible so we had to go in again to get it ourself. The wait and the inconsistency of who got waited on first depending on the server was crazy. We also saw others come up to the door and then end up leaving. We won't be coming back again unfortunately.
