Very buggy. Nice beach and campsite. Middle of the week quiet but as you near the weekend, sites fill up with campers - unfortunately, generators are not regulated and we heard one running all day and all night.

Definitely roughing it but it’s a nice spot. Went on a Wednesday, plenty of availability, although I hear it fills up on the weekends

Super mellow campground, close to the national Park and to a town. Nicest outhouses in northern MN! Never any bear problems either.

Is this campground open? I've called around up there and so far everyone says it's closed. Can't tell by the site either. Thanks

Just went there this last weekend and it was still closed.

I camped at Echo Lake in October for the past 20 yrs. It was always free camping that late in the season. Last yr they put up a gate and locked it. I assume it was due to the pandemic. Will it be open this year in October?
