HORRIBLE management!!

I was hired by Vibrant as a crisis counselor, and although the training was a lot of work, I was enjoying it. Then at the end of my second week I had to miss 2 days because I became gravely ill with what at first I thought was a horrible migraine (which made it impossible for me to look at a computer screen). However a couple of days later after experiencing other symptoms I tested positive for COVID. They ended up firing me, and didn't even have the decency to do it themselves. They made Atlantic (a recruiting agency they use) do it for them!! So the last email I got from Vibrant was from the instructor saying that he was so sorry I was still sick and gave me the list of assignments I had to make up as well as his help and support to me in making up the work. After I felt a little better and started doing the work, my recruiter called me and told me that they were letting me go for missing training!! I was shocked, and because we had gotten conflicting messages, she reached out to Vibrant for clarification but since it was after 5:00 on a Friday I had to wait all weekend to find out if I still had a job or not.....which I didn't, even after they found out I had Covid! Well, it turns out that it is illegal to fire someone for missing work due to having COVID in New York (even if they did just start the job) so I have already consulted a discrimination attorney. For a place that is supposed to thrive themselves on compassion, they really treated me horribly and I'm planning to hold them accountable.

You can request a Mobile Crisis Team who can come to his house (or your house, if he lives with you). What they will do is evaluate him and connect him to resources.
