It’s sad but when you have too many of our kind in one building nothing gets done. All these employees do is take care of their friends, family and whoever slides them a dollar! What a disgrace! The people of Mount Vernon demands another full investigation into this department! They do absolutely nothing to help the citizens! Who oversees these employees and their commissioners! Because the commissioner are the root of the problem. You can just look at them and tell they you to no good.

Bunch of scammers! Everytime you go with the documents they tell you bring, they always turn you back saying you need something else. They are all clueless in that department and no one is doing anything about it! Trying firing them all again and this time don’t bring back none of the same employees! Half of them live in the projects in the neighborhood and all they do is hookup their friends or send inspections to people homes they don’t like! They need a full investigation opened up again.

No ones answers the phone. Permits take anywhere from 4 weeks to a few months to process. This is the slowest, least professional building department in NEW YORK STATE. This entire department needs to be restaffed with people who want to work & not just show up to get paid.

You have to first make an appointment with the Buildings Department. It's usually a week or so wait time
I would say yes. However, its always good to pick up the phone or go to city hall and get the info from the source itself.

Not true!! May 15th is the cut off date for heating. The heating period starts October 15th and runs until May 15th. Call the building department and report.
