A beautiful somber experience. The permanent half size memorial is so well done it brought tears and memories of the wall on the mall in DC.

The Vietnam Wall of SW FL and Veterans Park, located in Punta Gorda, is truly one of the finest memorials to the men and women who served and died for our freedom. The Memorial Day Observance - "Commemorates Our Heroes" each year.

Have you looked at the recent brick laying job in front of the flag poles? What a mess. It doesn't match and some bricks have been damaged.. A beautiful spot ruined.

Is there any way to locate certain veterans on this wall other than looking at every panel?

Another way is enter your friend or family member's name, Date of Birth if you have it and Vietnam Veterans Wall of Faces into Google. It should bring up not only their location on The Wall, but a photo, perhaps a high school photo, of them as well. I was able to locate 2 of my Samuel F. B. Morse High School San Diego, CA friends that way. Daniel C. Patterson for example. BTW, when I visited The Wall in Washington DC shortly after it was built, there was a book to look up their names. I was quite surprised to read there were two Daniel Patersons. Since I didn't know Danny's middle name, I located both Daniel's on The Wall and penciled both of them. Knowing Danny's middle name afterwards, it was easier to locate the correct classmate when I visited The Wall in Punta Gorda, Fl. Good luck on your search. We will never forget them.
