Good company

I have been working at Turner Construction full-time for more than 3 years Pros Pay is OK. Vacation time is good. They have good benefits. Great place to build a resume. Cons The company is disorganized and every project is textbook dysfunctional. Culture is toxic, upper management are out of touch and have no regard for employee concerns or input. They will mismanage a project and then pin it on their staff to avoid blame. I have seen emoloyees chewed out, made fun of, harassed, and harshly corrected in front of all their peers. I have seen Turner use a bait and switch tactic with experienced hires, by telling them they will be hired for one role, and then trying to change their career path once they are working. I've seen this multiple times so watch out!! It's really a bummer because you would think it's a great company to work for but beware. Go work somewhere else. There is more I could say but the point is that Turner (Columbus office at least) is a place to avoid if you are an employee that places any value on a positive work environment. The only exception I would add is that is is. A great resume builder. The Turner name looks good on a resume so if you are trying to build the resume, maybe put up with it for a year or two then leverage that into a better job. Advice to Management Listen to your people. Promote intelligent hardworking employees, not the best brown nosers and smooth talkers. Stop being petty. Stop trying hide issues and bring them out in the open and be upfront with employees. We know when something doesn't add up, your not fooling us by pretending everything is on point. It just creates more tension and a feeling of dissatisfaction and lack of faith in leadership.
