My mother lived at the Beach House from March 29 2022 to August 7th 2022. My initial impression was this was a very clean and nice facility however the organization is definitely lacking throughout the different departments. I tried to get my mother breakfast in the mornings since the medication made her dizzy and that lasted for two days and never could it right. She also was never ever assessed once she was in there so perhaps that would have helped change the level of care she was receiving. I found they do this every 30 days for the first 90 days when you arrive at different facilities I interviewed once I left there. She also fell on Sunday and no one called me and when the following day my mother called me crying from her bed saying she broke her back I was told by the head nurse that only if they hit there head are they sent to the hospital and I am still unsure why I was never called. Once I arrived she had a huge knot on her head and her jaw was swollen. No one had bothered to check on her since the fall 24 hours prior! I immediately had the ambulance come and take her to the hospital where she had a fractured L1 and had surgery and spent 12 long days in the hospital. Not once when I left the facility did the Director or anyone call to see how my mom was doing so I immediately decided she was certainly not going back. She now after a month of a hospital and therapy can walk and is in a different facility for the same cost and wonderful care. They even put flyers every day on the door with the activities and what is going on so the residents don't need to come downstairs in order to find out what's going on. I will say the housekeeping personal is super friendly and Julie and Debbie at the front desk was always going above and beyond to help with any issues we had. I am sorry but I would not recommend the Beach House for your loved one unless they get better organized and better trained staff to know what should happen in an emergency. I don't want to think what could've have happened if I did not go straight there and get my mother into the hospital after her fall.

I have had a relative here for 2 years . The care is inconsistent. Housekeeping never dusts , rarely changes sheets and placed them back on the bed. I’m not sure what housekeeping tasks should be done each week because I cannot get the director to give me a straight answer. I often need to contact the director to ask for someone to go to the apartment and put the sheets on the bed. Food is very small portions. I have sat through dinner a few times with my family member and I was surprised of the tiny amount of food which was given to him. Last Christmas the residents enjoyed a PBJ sandwich for dinner . There is a high turnover of staff which contributes to the Inconsistent care.

I LOVE this place! My mom has been living here for about a year. The building is beautiful and my mom's apartment is the perfect size but it's really the people that I love so much. I cannot say enough about how kind and wonderful everyone is! The nurse, Danielle takes care of everyone. Sebastian is always smiling and he is so willing to do anything for anybody. The caregivers are so friendly and the manager, Bethany, is always happy, kind and helpful. It is SUCH a great place!

I'm looking for a place to live in a 24/7 assisted home living center. I'm from Long Beach NY. Undecided yet. Thanks

They do laundry but don't separate whites from jeans so if you don't want gray socks and shirts... family needs to launder nicer items
