As a mother of 3, I had to have reasoning skills, common sense, investigational skills and fairness at mind, when 1 of my children would come to tell me what one of the others had done. Apparently Nassau County Sheriff Officer Ryan Goethe has none of these skills. When you can’t distinguish 2 vs 1 is self defense, You need be in another line of work.

My dad was in an accident, which his car was submerged into a pond. Officer Charles Reagor wrote my unconscious father (who is still currently in a trauma center) a citation for no proof of insurance or valid drivers license, which were both located in his glove department. That being said, those items were impossible to retrieve. This is unethical at best. I contacted the Sheriff's office to file a complaint and seek resolution. I was told his supervisor would give me a call, but it was instead officer Charles Reagor. His supervisor finally called me after my second complaint. After verifying my father's valid FL drivers license, his resolution is it to take it up with the court.

The motto for law enforcement is “protect and serve." I called the sheriff‘s department because of a potential landmine that I found. Before they decided to show up and look at it, I sent them eight photos showing every angle of this strange thing. Seven or eight sheriffs vehicles arrived in front of my house in my neighborhood with all their "Christmas lights" on. Why? I don’t know. Maybe they wanted to alert all my neighbors that something was going on at my house. About eight vehicles were kept running with gas prices over four dollars a gallon. Maybe we shouldn’t waste all that money. With the motto "protect and serve," I believe that should include calming down the person who called about a potential bomb, me. THAT didn't happen. And they stayed in their little gossip group, mostly avoiding me. I told them several times that I was thirsty and cold and finally they let me go in the house to get water and a jacket. I had to ask them several times until finally I got very assertive. They let me in my house briefly. They didn’t check in with me - I had to ask them repeatedly what the status was. They almost acted like I wasn’t there. They were there because I called them for HELP. I won’t call them again unless I absolutely have to. Citizens should not be treated like this. The lieutenant showed up, walked right past me, never said a word to me, even when they decided that it wasn’t a landmine. Communication is crucial with the people that they are supposedly "serving." It is important for law enforcement to include their “Client“ who they are protecting and serving in the process of what’s going on. If I hadn’t constantly asked them what was happening, they would’ve stayed in their little gossip group and probably not told me anything. This is not the way to treat one of your constituents. I’ve experienced it before and it’s wrong - or, you should change your motto to "We might protect you, but we have no idea what "serving you" means.
