Used to be my go to for over 6 years. Went to their new location and they now charge $5to play your own games you bring even if your constantly buying food and drink. Sad it came to this state

new location is nice and large food still good - was there for a wedding recently and the drinks were strong and flowing!! The cheesy tator tots, stew, and butter beer were fantastic

Updated 2022: Easy 5 stars to a stretch at 3. Staff is still fantastic (although you don't really interact with them any more), cocktails are solid if expensive, and the new location looks great. But the move destroyed the menu. We've been back twice since reopening and while they cater to the board game theme well, the excellent and creative menu just isn't the same without a fryer, a flattop, and the more artisan specials from the past (compare hobbit day 2018 to hobbit day 2022). Will definitely come back if yall get a full kitchen again, but as it stands I can't really recommend cloak and blaster as a restaurant anymore, just a bar with a geeky gimmick.

This place is a D&D/board game lover paradise! There are LOTS of board games to rent and the option to bring your own games for a very reasonable $5/person. My group and I wanted to play our Star Wars rpg but there weren't any electrical sockets to plug in our laptops so that's a down side, but shouldn't be a problem for physical games. The food items have fun names and you order via a qr code at the table which is very modern and interesting. My only issue is that the menu is HUGE, particularly the drink menu. Too many options made it difficult to choose something and the drink descriptions only tell you flavor profiles but not actual ingredients which is fine if you don't have allergies like I do. I ended up getting a bottled beverage after doing a google search of the ingredients. If you are from the south and love sweet tea, don't get it here. I did not enjoy mixing sugar packets into cold almost tasteless unsweetened tea. Don't let the downsides deter you from checking out this place though, I had a great time with my friends and will be coming back. I highly recommend the wild berry cider and pretzel with beer cheese appetizer.

We don’t have an age limit, but we are an adult-focused establishment. We do not currently have a children’s menu or high chairs, but we do have a family-friendly category in our board game library.
We have 27 taps including craft beer, mead, and cider. We have a full scotch, bourbon, and Irish Whiskey collection as well as craft cocktails! If you don’t drink we do have a non-alcoholic rootbeer on draft as well as a wide variety of Boylan’s and Fentimen’s craft sodas.
We do not. Our new kitchen doesn’t have the ability to house grills or fryers.
You can find all of our COVID policies here. https://www.cloakandblaster.com/covid19 As a quick summary we’re seating at less than 50%, masks are required, menus are digital, and our game library has a 3-day quarantine
