On our 2nd visit in a month to Island house we experienced 3 wonderful varieties of pizza. Our companions from Chicago kept asking is it Chicago thin crust? My reply was wait and see! the easiness of this newly renovated allows you to sit inside or out and is somewhat open air with the double door entry left open. there is no hostess you sit wherever you please! a plus in my book. The atmosphere is "BEACH HOUSE CHIC" circa 1960 and I love it. The bar is fairly large and not crowded , and there is a back dining area with several tv's for sports or whatever is current. Outside offers 10 or picnic style tables with bistro lights for a courtyard feel on busy Bonita Beach RD. Cheese pizza is 1/2 price on Tuesday (you pay full price for added topping) and a bargain for 9.95 for the 16" large. Our friends ordered Sausage and mushroom extra thin and crispy and it came out perfect, we ordered plan and anchovy , and onion and mushroom ( no special instructions) all were prepared perfect. The only thing that kept this from 5 stars was our waiter who seemed clueless and we had to seek him out to order and refresh drinks. Later in the evening a waitress who happened to be passing by noticed the void and pitched in to help us. Our 1 st visit included roasted wings which we requested split 1/2 hot and 1/2 not was accommodated with a smile and tasted wonderful. BEER AND WINE ONLY . Update new owners, pizza has gone down so sad

Not a soul was in it at 1:30 pm . Should of been first red flag. We were Party of 7 easy going people hungry after leaving beach . Meals came out one by one 5-45 min apart . Very random and weird . Pizza was hardly cooked sent right back . Then one burger came out . The other we were told fell on floor had to remake . First burger was so gross couldn’t finish and he eats anything lol . Second came out 20 min later not as ordered and returned it. salad was came out correct . Grilled cheese was prepackaged shredded cheese that you sprinkle on food . Best part was it wasn’t all melted and I gagged when open it up because it wasn’t warm and melted . The finale was buffalo Mac and cheese never made it to table after 45 min . Waitress approached and said your not getting your meal . The cook just took it out to defrost it . We all looked at her in disbelief . She said I’m so sorry and embarrassed . I’m not charging you anything except the 4 beers . She stated the cook has a hangover and made a lot of mistakes and I’m so sorry . It was only those two employees . So beware before you enter this place it’s adorable inside and spotless but what a nightmare with the disgusting food and random food service one by one . I have never encountered something like this and never write reviews.
