Had to move out due to black mold! We only lived here for a month, and had to move out due to black mold throughout the entire apartment. The first night I moved in, I noticed a musty smell throughout the place. I noticed a leak stain on the ceiling. I brought it to the front offices’ attention, and they shrugged it off. I looked in the closet near the leak stain, and saw cockroaches everywhere. (Cockroaches tend to be near wet, damp areas). In this closet we saw what looked like to be mold growing on the drywall. I emailed the office about it, and I asked if it would be okay for me to hire a professional mold assessor to check it out, since their maintenance crew are not mold professionals. They never answered me, so I had the mold assessor come out anyway. When the mold assessor confirmed it was toxic black mold, the front office was upset with me for hiring the mold assessor in the first place, even though I asked them about it and they never answered. It was confirmed by a professional that there is black mold throughout the entire unit, and likely the units around it. (Building 10). They offered to let us out of our lease as it is a health hazard and not a livable condition. (By law, a tenant is has the right to break a lease without penalty due to mold exposure since it is not a livable condition). The mold is throughout the whole unit, not just that one spot. We had to go through the hassle of finding a new place to live, because they were unwilling to even address and acknowledge the mold, let alone do anything about it. I’m glad we’re out of there, and now we’re living in a safe place where we can BREATHE. But I feel bad for whoever they con into living there next. :/

Just renewed our lease for the 4th straight year. My husband and I like living here and find the office staff and the maintenance workers very attentive and friendly. If we ever have a maintenance issue, it is taken care of quickly and efficiently. The community is well maintained and the rent is more affordable than many similar type apartments in this area. I would definitely recommend living here. A bonus is we are only 10 minutes from the beach.
