I looked at the recent ratings and haven't seen this issue for anyone else so take that for what it is. Just came in - there was no obvious entrance from the street and when we entered we made eye contact with one of the waiters twice before they finally came to tell us to sit wherever, it definitely wasn't obvious for if this is a sit where you want situation or where the host seats you. We ordered their Rye'd and Prejudice and an Aperol spritz, both were EXTREMELY bitter from either too much Montenegro/Aperol in each respectable drink or too much bitters in each. Either way, definitely not an experience I'd like to try again unfortunately. I'd honestly just go up another block, plenty of options that are much better in my opinion.

came here because of the good ratings. The service was alright, they don't offer substitutions on a very baisically menu, which isn't bad but when we got our food they made a mistake on it and everything tasted bland. Regret not just going to ihop down the street.

Bookstore Bar is the nicest person and her staff is extremely nice. I love this place and the food is home style, delicious, and fresh. I love the french toast and blueberry pancakes. Excellent prices and great service!

Had 2 experiences here on a recent trip. Breakfast was pretty good. Avocado toast (minus pick de Gallo) is on pointe! They do not know how to make an over medium egg however. Coffee is strong. Breakfast wait staff is MIA a lot which is …Hi Alicia, Looks like we might have missed on a few smaller points, but I'm glad you enjoyed your experience overall. I agree the carrot cake is amazing! Next time try our baked alaska though, everytime I bring one out it's sure to get praise! Look forward to seeing you on your next visit.
