A lovely place to hike while clearing your mind. One of my favorite trails in the area. BUT the gates are locked every other day which really sucks

Wonderful area for a nature walk!

Took the dog for a walk. Lots of shade on some of the trails. Very clean. Huge rat snake blocked the trail. Scared me, since I was looking around and not down. Stepped back and waited till he turned around. Didn't know what kind of snakes were in the area. Now I do.

Nice place for a hike and to enjoy nature. Trails are easy to navigate.

During most of the year it is only open on weekends. Mid May through mid August it opens 7 days a week (when school is out). This might change soon, but nothing official yet.
There are a little over 3 miles of hiking trails, and no off road mountain bike trails here. There is a mile long paved trail that bikes use. Also during the off season (First weekend in Aug-Mother's day) this preserve is only open on Saturdays and Sundays. If you've never been Harris Lake Park has excellent mountain bike trails if that's what you're looking for.
Is fishing allowed
