The kayaking trail was very well marked. It took about an hour to complete the trail.

Beautiful bald cypress swamp with a picnic shelter and a well- marked paddling trail marked with 73 numbered buoys, so it would be difficult to get lost. These are the largest bald cypress trees I have seen-very impressive. There is a vendor renting kayaks for $25 to do the trail. I used my SUP, but did the trail sitting down because there are submerged logs that could knock you off if your fin catches them. I had to get b over at least six things that would have knocked me off.

Fun kayak trail, you just follow the buoys.

You need to bring a kayak. A 2 person canoe like an Old Town 16 will struggle. Go after a rainfall for easy paddling (no scraping and 1.5 hours for a leisurely trip). Go during a drought to see reptiles and other creatures on the banks and islands (increase the paddling time by at least 30 mins and you will drag on the obstacles frequently) It's a great experience and an easy paddle (1/5 difficulty)

The park is open every day till 8:30 pm. You will need to bring your own kayak to go out unless they are there renting them. We have our own Sonos a problem. You may need to call and find out when they have rental kayaks available.
On the Web page it says for the winter months
You have to bring your own canoes. There are kayaks for rent from Paddle Creek on the weekends.
