Horrible. Went for 5 course meal with wine tasting. They repeatedly skip our table for the courses of food and wine for which we paid a premium. We just left in the middle. There was no one that even checked if anything/everything was OK along the way except for staff bussing the table. I can't speak for the food but it was the most awful service/experience I can remember beyond a drive thru. Like I said,we left in the middle out of disgust.

My husband and I went here for our tenth wedding anniversary. Fast, friendly service and fantastic food. I would definitely recommend this place for any kind of romantic dinner. Ambiance was nice with dimmer lighting and ocean decor. We started with the calamari and it cooked perfectly. The dipping sauces it came with were yummy and you could tell they made everything fresh. I had veggie tacos and they were supreme! Black beans and sweet potato made for a wonderful mixture of flavors in my mouth. Absolutely delicious! My husband had the fish and chips and the batter was light and also delicious. Fish and chips were cooked perfectly and you could tell the oil used to cook them was nice and clean. The waitress was great. She anticipated out every need and it seemed she had been doing this a long time. She was highly professional, speedy and friendly. There was also a very nice young lady who greeted us and brought us to our table. Overall a wonderful place to go! I highly recommend going here if you are in the area. You will leave full of great food and happy!

Oh definitely NO! Very dated atmosphere. Friendly staff but food was terrible. Steak was very low grade and not edible. Raw and cold at first, sent back and receive the same hacked up meat that couldn't be cut with a steak knife. I'm sure it was a previously frozen steak! Sent back and it was removed from the bill. Other dinners were lack luster. Not sure if anything is fresh. Rice was hard. The bread was awesome but definitely will not return.

It's surprising to me it's been so long since we've dined at Saltwater Grille in Litchfield because their food is incredible. Covid probably added to the gap in time, so we were happy to finally book a reservation for their monthly wine dinner this November. Signing up for their emails earlier this year, this month's five course menu sounded perfect: Butternut Squash Bisque with crab & leeks; Boston Bibb lettuce with chicken, walnuts and apple; Duck Confit Wellington with fig glaze; Bourbon BBQ braised short ribs on Yukon gold mashed with crispy Brussel sprouts and a mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich for dessert. (for menu details see my photos) Everything delivered in terms of flavor and Chef skills. My favorite was the short ribs, but each dish was prepared well. The proper pacing of each course steadily fills patrons up. I was hoping the dessert would be a mini ice cream sandwich, but no, it was full size with thick fresh baked cookies to boot. Of course an accompanying wine comes with each serving. Starting with a Prosecco toast and ending with a Port cocktail, two whites were paired with the first two courses, and two reds with the third and fourth. A red wine person, for once I preferred the whites - a Pinot Grigio and a Chardonnay - both for their smoothness. The Pinot Noir and Zinfandel were noteworthy. At the end of the meal a list of the wines showcased in the dinner is given to patrons with bottle prices at a nearby liquor store sponsoring the wines. The wine poured throughout the meal are tasting pours not whole glasses. Clientele joining us in the smaller well lit back room varied from seniors to two women with a well-behaved baby and toddler to a bigger table for the wine rep and his guests. New to the Grille's wine dinner, we learned we could ask for a top off of the wine (another taste) being sampled by the circulating server who appeared to be with the wine sellers. A nice experience. If you'd like to give it a try, go to their website and sign up for their email notifications. Each month is a new menu. We look forward to revisiting their regular menu on our next visit for a couple of entrées we have to enjoy again. The bar seemed to be the most lively place to roost. Check out the new Torrington location, as well, for take-out and now dine in and happy hours in both locations. # Really delicious food. Duck bacon wrapped scallops, fish and chips and spinach & artichoke crusted salmon. The service was poor due to a novice learning, but they comped us a drink, as a result.
