Yes, we do! Our Personal Emergency Response units include options that call for help using the landline phone, a mobile unit that includes GPS location, and fall-detection pendants.

Our Adult Day Care centers offer a secure place to bring your loved one during the day. Sometimes we have to get creative in order to get the loved one to attend, such as finding odd jobs for them to do, or say they are volunteering to help at the senior center. We have had men help with small janitorial tasks, women help fold towels, maybe they play music for the group during the day – anything to instill a sense of self-worth and show they still are valued and needed in society. The rate at the center is affordable and lunch and snacks are provided. We also have caregiver grants that can help offset the costs.

The answer to this question depends on a lot of things. First, I would make sure that you install plenty of smoke alarms, and possibly some that will automatically alert the fire department. She may qualify for someone to come and stay with her a few hours each day. She could come to the senior center or adult day care during the day and participate in the activities there as well as eat a meal so she doesn’t have to cook. Call your local office and speak to a Care Coordinator about your options.
