As most people are already aware, Big Lots is great way to save money, though I usually only go here when I know I need to get some specific essential household things like cleaning supplies, seasonal items, and batteries. This store's location being right next to Safeway makes the differences in price dramatic and demonstrable as items like light bulbs, kitchen gadgets, mops and so on are essentially the same as the ones for salenext door, but you'll end up paying double buying bandages and first aid supplies in the aisles next to the Pharmacy instead of a few hundred feet on the other side of the wall the two stores share. I mean, "Waterproof Adhesive Bandages for $1.50? Or... SkinFlex™ Band-Aids® for $4.95?" 🤔 There are a few downsides though: specific items aren't always in stock, and the quality/durability of some of the things on sale can be questionable. As in everything else in life, it's always going to be to your benefit to use good judgement and common sense. At least the employees you encounter in Big Lots are polite and seem be genuinely interested in helping you if you need assistance. In stark contrast, I've been sighed at, had eyes rolled at myself by the ornery, impatient, and disinterested night shift cashiers when shopping at Safeway after 10:00 PM; not to mention almost getting run over by the feet and elbows Safeway has brought in for some aggressive nocturnal shelf restocking
