I'm 59,living in my van, in college, will have a job when I graduate in 2 months. No income now.just needed a little help till then. Lady told me no and they don't have gas cards. Guy called them as soon as I hung up lady said come on down for a hot meal then we will give you a gas card and some food to take home. He told her he makes too much money to get food stamps and just put $1000.00 down on a new car. What's wrong with this picture ?

Jim Sears and everyone at Christian Help Center are wonderful, caring people..They are there to help those in need. I donate to them regularly to help them with buying food for people who need help or for school supplies. They appreciate however much you can donate!

This place is not of God. Jim is judgmental an places ultimatum. I'm a young single mom who takes care of my sick mom. I came to the center for help for Duke. Jim said he would pay it. NO HE DID NOT. MY ELECTRIC IS SHUT OFF. DONT TRUST THESE PEOPLE.

Give the Christian help center a phone call, they may be able to help you! I know that they try to help as much as they can with single parents needing cars. It really just depends on a few variables. But they would be able to tell you a lot more, or have resources if they can't help you. Good luck!

Tuesday and Thursday from 10am -2pm call 24 hours beforehand and follow the directions on the answering machine. Yes that's the only days and hours for assistance, but you may be able to call and set up another day if someone is going to be around.
You have to call and set up a meeting. They usually are open Tuesday and Thursday for those things but need an appointment. Does your county have a community action group like ABCAP. If so they normally can help with vouchers for things like that. Good luck
