Just visited my Aunt and after way too many parents and relatives in various assisted living and skilled nursing facilities I was also blown away by the safety precautions re COVID, the pleasantness and quality of the rooms and communal areas, and most importantly the cleanliness and lack of odors etc. Then what was absolutely amazing was how kind, helpful and genuinely caring and observant every one from the front door to my aunt's room - cleaning staff, nurses aids etc all immediately providing more help than you asked for without the undertone of being overworked and just putting on a facade. I was extremely impressed and feel so relieved my dear aunt is in such quality care.

I've heard the horror stories about nursing homes but never expected to actually have to deal with the awful side of elder care until it came time to care for a loved one. It's shocking how many horrible, second rate facilities there are around Rochester. But The Maplewood is not one of them. I HIGHLY recommend The Maplewood for it's rehabilitation services and skilled nursing home facilities. It's been a few months now and I am so thankful for the staff and the exceptional love, care, and attention to detail from everyone who I have interacted with have been able to provide. Even during a challenging time like COVID, they have gone above and beyond. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You've made a difficult time more manageable. And I am confident our family member is in great hands and is getting the best care.

My mom was at the Maplewood nursing home for the last months of her life. The staff took the best care of my mom and was so caring to her every need. My mom has told my brother, sister and my self many times how much she loved those girls. We couldn’t ask for any better care of our mom especially the times we weren’t able to be there. My grandfather has been here for over a month now and I purposely waited to write this review so that it was not based on my initial impression. I will preface this by saying I work in healthcare and see many patients from all different facilities, with not one single complaint from anyone coming from The Maplewood. The staff here is compassionate, attentive and really try to make you feel at home. They are gentle with him when moving and changing him. We are a large family with a lot of input into his care and the staff is so receptive to it. If we need anything, they do their best to accommodate us and not once have we been disappointed. My mom actually moved her wedding up and held it right at The Maplewood because of the condition my grandfather is in. Not only did they set up the tables, they also made sure there was someone there to help us if we needed it. We recently held our Father’s Day gathering of nearly 15 people in his room and we had zero issues. The staff seem genuinely happy with what they do and they are always there in pairs to move him around. Safety is something I take special note of and they are top notch. My grandmother has spent every single night with him and they brought her a cot to sleep on from day 1. The dentist came in and evaluated his teeth and he is set to have a cleaning. This place is expensive but there is not one detail that goes overlooked.
