We live locally and many of our family and friends have booked this hotel because of it's convenient location and being pet friendly. Unfortunately that's the only "friendly" feature you will find!! They are NOT friendly to the elderly or disabled. They are NOT friendly to Marriott loyalty members. They don't even appear to be friendly about cleanliness and hospitality!! Definitely avoid checking in later in the evening, because the guy who works the front desk is the most arrogant, and offensive individual that we have ever come across. When a disabled family member was distraught because they requested a handicapped accessable room, confirmed the day before that they had a handicapped accessible room, and then showed up to find out they were randomly placed far from any entrance, without any handicapped accessible requests met, the most arrogant employee responded with, "Well, I'd be happy to cancel your reservation for you." Would this be what you consider to be problem solving skills? Offensive, rude, filthy, and horribly managed! Book at your own risk!!

The place seemed clean and relatively well kept. Understanding there are still some pandemic protocols in place, I was not made aware they had abbreviated their housekeeping schedule until I asked after not seeing anyone for three days. They made a good attempt at providing a hot breakfast for guests, although it had to be served and was not available as per the usual buffet-style setup. The staff was business-like, but not unfriendly. In fact, the housekeeper who did service my room the one time it was scheduled during my stay was very nice.

Check-in was quick and easy, even though we arrived early. Our room was very clean and spacious. Hotel staff was friendly and informative. We used the indoor pool and jacuzzi before our wedding event that evening. Check-out was also fast. The unexpected breakfast was adequate, given Covid restrictions. All in all, we had a nice stay at The Residence Inn.

Our stay was wonderful. Everyone was very accommodating. Even kept the pool open an hour later so we could enjoy a swim and the hot tub after a very long drive from NC. I love that you accommodate for pets. Our dog was very happy and comfortable. Very clean and kept up well. Our 2 boys enjoyed the basketball court as well. There was plenty of room in our suite. Next time we will definitely get a 2 bedroom as our boys are too grown to share the pull out sofa any longer. We also loved that it is so close to so many stores and restaurants. We lived in Troy for about 40 years and moved last year to NC so we were in town to visit family and friends. The hotel was close enough to get to them in a short drive but far enough out of the city so it was peaceful. Thank you Residence Inn we will be staying with you on future visits for sure.
