I called for service due to 2 of 4 buttons stopped working on my spa's control pad. The service tech came out the following day and I was told the pad did need to be replaced but because my spa is older (2012 Sundance) the part is no longer available and often does not work if the panel is not also replaced so he said they needed to be ordered together (approx $1100 estimate) and the charge for that days visit ($224 which was not told to me on the phone) would be applied to the labor for the replacement. A week later he returned to install and discovered that the new panel requires 4 wires and my current panel is only wired with 3, so additional electrical was needed. He estimated he or his coworker could do this for about $15 per foot, needing 93 feet. So an additional $1400 to get the electrical in place. I again inquired if just the control pad could be replaced, as this was all becoming very pricey for my spa that i rarely use anymore. He again told me it could not. I told him I needed to speak to my husband before making the decision. When my husband got home we called his best friend who often does his own repairs on his spa and he said that the control pads can easily be replaced and are readily available to order on Amazon and Google. I did a quick search and THEY WERE RIGHT THERE and AVAILABLE!!! I also watched some youtube videos which make it look like a fairly simple process. Before jumping to conclusions, I called Sundance and was referred to All Season Pool and Spa (Rocklin) and when I explained my problem with the control pad, they told me over the phone that the control pad could be replaced and they had them in stock for $279 and if I wanted All Season to install, it would cost $179 to confirm pad failure and labor to reinstall new pad. For good measure, I also emailed a 3rd company who confirmed the pad could be replaced alone. I reached out via email to the mgr or owner for Capital City Hot tubs asking them to look into my situation and it's been 5 days without a response. I will alter my review if I hear back and I get a satisfactory resolution but at this point I suspect Capital city hot tub tech was NOT forthcoming about the simple fix my spa needed. I'm now reading other negative reviews about this business and the owner never seems to acknowledge any customer's experience and wants to say it is a "scam". I can assure you this review is not a scam and I've included a pic of my receipt from initial visit as proof. ( note the tech did not even accurately describe the service request) **update the service tech called and when i explained my concerns he offered a refund. Which i accepted so I have altered from 1-star to 3 star review.

I bought the perfect hot tub for my needs at Capital City hot tubs. Yes I might’ve been able to save a little money by buying one online but they gave me great recommendations and most importantly great service installing it and they’ll be there for support if it’s ever needed.

Very professional and helpful. Ordered a spa cover after being ripped off by another company, Capital City made the process very easy and it came in 3 weeks earlier than expected.
