Rooms smell like the first motel ever built (musty) there's no lush grass anywhere on premises, no water in the pool, and front office service lacks. BTW, there's no restaurant next to it, it's closed up. Ended up not staying there, even though we paid for the room, as we went to another place in Willows.

This is the worse place I've ever stayed. To start, we waited 10 minutes in the cold (with our baby) for someone to check us in. Office smelled like weed & bleach. The other guests were sketchy and kids were running around outside screaming by our window until 10pm. When we entered our room it was FILTHY. Cigarette ash on the carpet, and it obviously hadn't been vacuumed in a while. The pillows were so gross I had to ball up my sweater and use it instead. The sheets were thin and had holes in them. The mattress was old and lumpy. The bathroom floor was sticky, baseboards were yellow, toilet had not been cleaned. All surfaces were dirty. I ran the hot water in the shower for 5 minutes and it never got hot. Microwave and fridge were from the 1980's and crusted with old food. Without the heater on the room was freezing, with the heater on low the room was too hot. There was no remote for the TV. The side table drawers were not cleaned out. The lamp on my side of the bed was inoperable. Outside light shown through the multiple rips & tears in the curtains. I found dead gnats in a few places. And guess what, there was NO trash can in our room. I guess because the whole room was a trash can! I just threw our trash in a pile on the bathroom floor. Sorry next guests, I'm sure they won't clean it! NIGHTMARE HOTEL. I've stayed in hotels half this price that were cleaner than this. Do not waste your time or money.

Our regular stop on the way from Oregon to Healdsburg... this is a beautiful, out of the way, independently owned motel with superb management, lush landscaping, and very little highway noise. Not fancy, not slick, not commercial. If that's what you like, go elsewhere. In reading most of the negative reviews below, I have to wonder who some of these people are and if they are talking about the same place. Some of their reviews are completely absurd, pure invention! Eduardo, the manager, is friendly and beyond accommodating. He is one of the primary reasons we keep coming back. The Blue Gum has no obsession with rules that I have ever run across... certainly any "rule" would be a reasonable one (don't let your child swim unattended or run out into the road?) The complainers don't clarify this. We bring our dog with us all the time... they have a certain number of dog-friendly rooms, and when they're gone, they're gone. Like I said, if you want something like Motel 6 or another chain motel, please go there and not here! There are many of us who appreciate the homey atmosphere and lovely green setting, as well as a continuing friendship with "Lalo" in the office!

Very cool place to stay. Has new rooms and are newly updated and clean. Very comfortable atmosphere. Good for family or business. Yard and pool area is very nice. I haven't visited any other motel with helpful staff like they have. Very cool.
