The Portland registry is the worse registry. 7 windows and only 3 people working. Lines of people waiting and no one cares. Very slow and unattentive to what is going on. Who ever supervises this registry should be fired.

Terrible waiting times. What is the point of having 7 box windows open but Only 1-2 of them with employees?

Excellent experience renewing my driver's license this morning. No wait, friendly & helpful service.

Ambiance is a little dated, but clean. Ample seating for the brief wait. Staff was pleasant and efficient, and gave me a free eye exam with my license renewal. Will definitely be back!

What is needed to renew drivers license. Age 71
what do I need to get my license renewals
For a standard DL it's $30. For a REAL ID it's $55. Those are for 64 or younger. 65 or older are $20 and $40.
First come first served. Capacity inside right now is 27.
A Birth certificate and proof of Maine residency such as a billing statement in your name would suffice
Take the driving test properly
Depends. If you're between 40 and 45, 52 and 57, or over 62 you'll have to go in for a vision screening. Otherwise you should be able to do it online.
Please visit there website they list everything you need and more to get a new photo I'd! Make sure u have everything or it will be a worthless visit.
No
Nope but once the lobby is full you have to wait outside. We went at 830 and got right in and waited about 30 minutes
Someone at the DMV should be able to solve that for you Sorry i have no idea
Not just yet. It has to be 25 years old....so 1996 and older.
I think you will need to get the state to send you a title for the car showing you own it. I would call the secretary of state and ask them how to do this. My guess is you will probably have to show you inherited the car, either with the will, or with some sort of documentation for how the estate was executed if there was no will.
Go here and scroll down: https://www.maine.gov/sos/bmv/licenses/getlicense.html
They send you a date and time after like a week or two.
Yes.
No appointment only. I was there today. Most things can be done online or over the phone.
How can I get a new address on my driver's license
Call and schedule and appointment!
Right now we are by appointment only, I'd call the main number and see if an appointment is required.
On the back of the driving log is the address for the Augusta office. They schedule the tests at your nearest branch. Keep in mind there's a large backlog right now as the BMV was closed for about 8 weeks.
Yes. Don't forget to bring required documents: https://www.maine.gov/sos/bmv/licenses/renewal.html
Maine Registration = Maine plates = Maine Inspection Sticker required
It doesn't mind if you go to the DMV
You can print the form out from the Maine motor vehicle website (not sure what it is) or maybe request your primary care physician to print it out since you need your doctor to complete the application. When you go to get a driver's license or just take the application where you get your driver license and they will issue the place card.
Yes
You must bring the proof of your older license.
5 dollars
No. You have to go to DMV office.
Yes!
