Took Culinary 102 - Cooking with Wine at the 57th street location in Manhattan. Instead of paying almost $200 for my wife and me to take this class we could’ve bought an easy bake oven for a fraction of the cost. All we did was cut a shallot, garlic and strip some thyme. Then we poured the pre-measured liquids into the bowl and moved them together. And, for the big event, we put pre- prepared cut dark meat chicken pieces on a frying pan (pre-oiled). Cooking with wine? Hardly. For dessert we poached some pears but the chef made the wine sauce and poured it over the fruit. This was not cooking with wine. This was a knives class at best. Don’t waste your money. Buy an easy bake oven and some mixes. I tried to contact customer service via email and I keep getting blocked. I guess they don’t like hearing the truth.

This flagship store located in the Hurst Tower right on 57th Street is a beautifully decorated boutique. Every high-end kitchen gadget, appliance, accessory you can think of they have. They also offer classes in their demo kitchen. The Nespresso shop is no longer located in this business 5/22.

My experience walking into Sur la Table was interesting. I was greeted by a beautiful young lady at the door who spoke and welcomed me . As I walked through the store I noticed a few workers, no interaction. I was in the store nearly15 minutes b4 I asked an elderly woman at the register do you guys normally ask can you help customers or should they walk up ? She was shocked at my questioning of course.
