This place should be avoided. Land of the Arches Campground is a good, quiet campsite with good amenities (wifi, electricity, showers, bathroom, firewood, etc.) I've stayed here multiple times for climbing trips because it's a great, convenient place. However, the owner can be rude, belligerent, and unpredictable. My friends and I parked unknowingly in a section of grass that the owner didn't want us to park in. There was nothing there to indicate that we shouldn't park there except for some metal pipes run through cinder blocks with gaps plenty big enough to drive a vehicle through. Instead of simply saying "Hey, can you not park here?" (or better yet, spending $8 on a sign that tells people not to park in the area) the owner approached us and almost immediately started cussing at us. I then later heard through the grape vine that he was planning on coming to apologize to us, which he never did, which would've kept me from writing this review. After talking to other people that have stayed at Land of the Arches, this seems to have started to become a trend for the owner over the past few years. This is also the SECOND time that this has happened with my friends that I was with. The first time being my friend having had paid for camping but had not yet put the tag on his tent. Again, instead of a simple "Hey don't forget your tag" the owner chose to be vulgar and aggressive. There are many other great places to stay that are cheap and of good amenities like the classic Miguel's Pizza. The rest stop in Slade is also great (and free with restrooms as well) if you're not camping in a tent. This is a shame that this has happened to Land of the Arches as it's been my "go-to" place for the last year or so. The place is objectively great when you take the owner out of the equation. However, it's not worth the risk to go out climbing, hiking, or whatever only to return to find out that your car has been towed because the owner is in a bad mood that day and you unknowingly parked in a spot that made him upset.

Our group had an excellent weekend here. We all agreed that it was very well organized along with very clean and quiet. It was nice to be able to come back and take a warm shower after a day in the woods. We'll definitely camp here again if we're ever back in the area!

Clean restrooms and showers. The hangar provides shade if needed, can also chill and charge your electronics. Will definitely come back

As a solo camper who was new to the area, let me start with what this place isn't. It doesn't have a lot of shade, no amazing views from your campsite. There is no real privacy between sites either. What it is is a FOB (forward operating base) for you and your family to explore the area. It's a self check in system so you can show up anytime. It has a large covered patio for cooking, and a huge hanger with plenty of activities for the family which is great if the weather gets bad. You can play air hockey, read books, watch TV, chess, checkers etc. He even has a couple of very small rooms you can rent inside the hanger if weather is bad. And, wait for it, he has amazingly hot showers and a washer and dryer!! The entire site is covered by free WiFi, which was one of the biggest draws. The owner David is a very friendly guy with a lot of information about the area. I showed up during the week so I basically had the whole place to myself. Having checked out a few other of the camp grounds, I would definitely recommend this place.

Just wondering if reservations are required for tent camping. I’m going with a couple of other people, but I’m not sure if there will be 3 or 4 of us, so I don’t want to book. Does anyone know? Thanks!

Are there any sites with electricity?

Yes. A large pavilion in the center has bathrooms and showers but you have to go over to take advantage of electricity. The individual sites around are more primitive.
